All fees are per unit (each) unless otherwise specified, and are separate to any fees incurred by 3rd party providers to complete traffic management plans or other work.

Maintenance, renewal, and improvement of utility structures
Excavation activities – Level LV and Level 1 roads
- Minor works (property boundary to kerbline) - No charge
- Major works (kerbline to kerbline) - $59.96.
- Extension of Works Access Permit (WAP) - $29.98.
Excavation activities – Level 2, Level 2L and Level 3 roads
- Minor works (property boundary to kerbline) - $79.95.
- Major works (kerbline to kerbline) - $119.93.
- Extension of WAP - $39.98.
Excavation activities – Level LV, Level 1, Level 2, Level 2L and Level 3 roads
- Project works (28-90 days) - $299.82.
- Major projects (90+ days) - $79.95 per hour.
- Extension of WAP - $149.91.
Non-excavation activities relating to existing utility infrastructure
Activities that affect the normal use of the road carriageway or footpath:
- Level 1 and Level LV roads - $39.98.
- Level 2 and Level 2L and Level 3 roads - $79.95.
Building construction activities
These charges do not apply to the carrying out of utility works in the road corridor.
Temporary placement (less than 10 days) of mobile plant or equipment in the road corridor for building construction activities (non-utility related)
- Application fee (note: a daily charge will apply as well as reimbursement for any loss of on-street parking revenue) - $39.98
- Daily charges, based on activity, location and duration:
- Placement of waste bins or containers in the parking lane or berm area - $29.98 per day (no charge for first 3 days).
- Placement of mobile cranes, Hiab trucks, cherry pickers etc on parking lanes, footpaths or berm areas - $.9.98 per day.
- Placement of mobile plant or equipment in traffic lanes and cycle facilities on Level LV and Level 1 roads - $79.95 per day.
- Placement of mobile plant or equipment in traffic lanes and cycle facilities on Level 2 and Level 2L roads between the hours of 9am and 4pm (weekdays) - $239.86 per day.
- Placement of mobile plant or equipment in traffic lanes on Level 2 and Level 2L roads between the hours of 7pm and 7am (weekdays) and 7am and 7pm (weekends and public holidays) - $79.95 per day.
- Placement of scaffolding in the berm or footpath (no restriction to pedestrian movement) - No charge.
- if pedestrian movement is limited, then fees for temporary occupation apply.
Reimbursement of on-street parking revenue
Fees reflect the current on-street parking charges and are subject to change:
- Pay and display: inner CBD (blue zone) - $105.71 per removed parking space per day.
- Pay and display: inner CBD (green zone) - $58.57 per removed parking space per day.
- Pay and display: outer CBD (yellow zone), Newmarket, Ponsonby and Parnell - $51.43 per removed parking space per day.
- Pay and display: all other areas - $20 each.
- Time-restricted parking areas - $18 each.
- Removal and reinstatement of existing street furniture, e.g. bins, seats, signs, line marking - At cost.
Filming and event-related activities
- Level 1 and LV Roads -$39.98.

Additional Corridor Management Charges
Level LV and Level 1 roads
- Unapproved works (activities being undertaken without an approved WAP or TMP) - $683.80.
- No notification of the commencement of works - $168.32.
- Issue of a non-conformance notice (NNC or NCN) - $315.60.
- Issue of a stop-work order - $389.24.
- Late completion - $189.36 per day.
- No notification of the completion of works - $168.32.
Level 2, Level 2L and Level 3 roads
- Unapproved works (activities being undertaken without an approved WAP or TMP) - $1399.16.
- No notification of the commencement of works - $315.60.
- Early establishment or late disestablishment affecting traffic in peak periods - $631.20 per peak period.
- Issue of a non-conformance notice (NNC or NCN) - $631.20.
- Issue of a stop-work order - $599.64.
- Late completion - $473.40 per day.
- No notification of the completion of works - $315.60.
Notes
- A CAR application is required to be lodged for all activities that require an excavation in either the footpath and/or the road carriageway.
- A CAR application is not required to be lodged for the carrying out of a single excavation in the grass berm that is less than 3 m2 or 6 metres in length. If the excavation is greater than 3 m2 or 6 metres in length and/or multiple excavations are required in the grass berm then a CAR application is required to be lodged. Note: A relevant TMP is still required to be on site.
- A CAR application is not required to be lodged for non-excavation activities relating to existing utility infrastructure on Level LV, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 2L roads if the carrying out of the activities does not affect the normal use of the road carriageway or footpath. Note: A relevant TMP is still required to be on site.
- Minor works are works that involve excavations in the grass berm or footpath (property boundary to kerbline) and have a duration of 28 days or less from establishment to final reinstatement.
- Major works are works that require the carrying out of excavations in the road carriageway (kerbline to kerbline) and have a duration of 28 days or less from establishment to final reinstatement.
- Project works are (minor or major) works that have a duration of greater than 28 days from establishment to final reinstatement.
- A major project is a project which has a duration of greater than 90 days from establishment to final reinstatement or has the potential to cause major traffic impacts on the network. The Corridor Manager may choose to issue WAP’s for separable portions of the works which each have a duration of less than 90 days however the project itself will still be deemed to be a major project.
- Utility operators must give the Corridor Manager preliminary notification of project works using the form contained in Schedule A1 of the National Code of Practice for Utility Operators’ Access to Transport Corridors. At this time the Corridor Manager will advise whether the works are considered to be a major project.
- It is expected that the Corridor Manager and utility operator will discuss and agree the cost for processing CAR applications for major projects prior to the lodgement of the CAR application.
- A CAR application must be lodged within 48 hours of the commencement of emergency works if the work would have required the lodgement of a CAR application had it been planned.
- The fee for the processing of CAR applications for emergency works is the same as that for planned works.
- A works completion inspection will be undertaken in all cases where there is excavation works carried out in either the footpath or the road carriageway.
- Failure to notify the completion of works within 10 working days of completion will attract an additional fee.
- If additional inspections are required due to a non-conformance being identified, then these will be charged at the specified amount.
- The charges for building construction activities do not apply to the carrying out of utility works in the road corridor.
- Occupying the road reserve for building construction activities involving for example, the placement of hoardings or security fences to restrict public access, will incur additional charges.
- The placement of mobile cranes within traffic lanes on Level 2 and Level 2L roads between the hours of 9am and 4pm (Monday to Friday) will only be permitted if it can be demonstrated that no other practical option exists.
- The charges relating to the removal of on-street parking spaces reflect the current on-street parking charges and are subject to change.
- If utility operators are working together at a work site then the Corridor Manager may agree to the lodgement of a single CAR application covering their activities.
- The Corridor Manager will exercise judgement in respect to the application of the non-compliance charges and may waive or apply these charges as they see fit.
- All charges will be billed monthly to the respective utility operator or applicant.
- All charges shall be paid by the 20th of the month following the month of invoicing. Any concerns relating to the charges shall be advised to the Corridor Manager within 10 working days of receipt of the invoice.
- Requests to extend the window of work or duration of work for an approved CAR will incur an additional fee. Extensions to the duration of work that are for a week or more will also be subject to additional progress inspection fees.
- After hours call out fees will apply between the hours of 5pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and any time on weekends and public holidays and are applied where site specific issues of a dangerous and significant nature are identified, likely in response to a customer complaint.
- Services listed as “at cost” are provided by third party vendors and will be charged at this vendor’s current market rate
