Sustainable procurement

Auckland Transport has an annual spend in excess of a billion dollars. What we spend rate and tax payer money on is important but equally how we spend can have significant impacts on Aucklanders. Sustainable Procurement is one tool we use to help ensure that Auckland Transport achieves broader social, economic, environmental and cultural benefits when procuring goods and services.
We are currently developing a strategy with specific sustainability priorities that Auckland Transport wishes to deliver through its procurement activities. We are also developing tools and guidance to support buyers and our suppliers in delivering our sustainable procurement priorities.
