Monthly parking leases Monthly parking leases
Monthly car parking is available at some Auckland Transport (AT) car parks.
Check availability
To check availability, go to the expression of interest form - if the car park appears in the dropdown list, then leases are available and you can continue to apply.
Some car parks do not have leases available. We do not have a waitlist.
Apply for monthly car parking
All car parking leases are for a minimum of 3 months. If you cancel the car park within 3 months of the start date, you will be charged an early-termination fee ($100).
To apply for a monthly car park space, you need to fill out the expression of interest form.
Processing your application
- Once we have received your expression of interest, we will contact you within 4 working days.
- If we can offer you a car park, we will send details of your licence agreement and ask you to supply one form of photo ID (passport or NZ driver license) and complete a signed direct debit form.
- If your application is successful, you will receive an email confirmation with access instructions, an identification label to put on your windscreen and a remote control (one per leased space) if required.
Please note: Parking spaces are not guaranteed until all documentation is received and accepted. While we do our best to grant a car park at your selected location(s), we cannot guarantee the availability of a parking space.
Payment
- The cost of monthly car parking depends on the car park and type of licence.
- Payment is by direct debit only.
- Payments are made monthly, in advance, at the start of the calendar month.
- You will receive your initial invoice at the start of the first full month. It will include all charges from the start date to the end of the first full month.
- All costs include GST.

Access to car park
Licence plate recognition (LPR)
Some of our car parks use a licence plate recognition (LPR) system for entry and exit.
- Our licence plate recognition (LPR) system reads your vehicle licence plate number, and raises the barrier arm when you enter and exit the car park building.
- We need to know the vehicle licence plate numbers for the vehicles that park in your lease space.
- No access card or remote is needed.
Remote - McCrae Way car park
- First remote: $150 bond (refundable on return).
- Replacement fee (if lost or damaged): $150.
Remote - other car parks
- First remote: $100 bond (refundable on return).
- Replacement fee (if lost or damaged): $100.

How to notify us
- Email: parkingleases@at.govt.nz
- Post: Auckland Transport, Private Bag 92250, Auckland 1142, Attention: Car Park Leasing Team.
Licence plate recognition (LPR)
Some of our car parks use a licence plate recognition (LPR) system for entry and exit.
We must know the vehicle licence plate numbers for all the vehicles that use your lease space, so that the barrier arm will open for you on entry and exit.
Please keep us updated with your licence plate numbers, email parkingleases@at.govt.nz
Multiple vehicles listed to use one car park lease space
You can list more than one vehicle to use one car park space, at no extra cost.
When the first vehicle enters the car park, this vehicle will be recorded as using the lease space. Any other vehicles on the list will then be blocked from automatically entering. To enter, the driver must push the Call button on the entrance machine to talk to the parking team. You will be prompted to take a paper ticket from the machine, and will need to pay at the machine before exiting.
Using a temporary vehicle
Please advise us as early as possible if you are using a temporary vehicle, preferably 3 days before using that vehicle.
If you are in the car park and have not advised us of the change of vehicle, press the Call button on one of the payment machines or the exit machine to speak with the parking team.
Please note that if you have not advised us of a change of vehicle, you may need to pay for casual parking.
When you are no longer using the temporary vehicle, contact us so we can remove this vehicle from our system. If not removed, this vehicle will be able to enter and park in your lease space.
