Tickets

Customers travelling on Te Huia have the option to buy a paper ticket or use a Bee Card (similar to an AT HOP card).

  • If you are buying a paper ticket, you will need to do this at the onboard cafe with cash or EFTPOS.
  • If you are paying via Bee Card, the train manager will come through the carriage to hold your card to their mobile card reader.

For fare information visit the Te Huia website.

For travel on the AT Southern Line trains in Auckland, you will need to use an AT HOP card.

Bee Cards

Bee Cards are $10 and can be purchased from the AT Papakura and Puhinui Service Centres, only using EFTPOS.

These centres can also top up Bee cards, but they cannot load concessions. For concessions, customers should refer to the Bee Card website or contact the Te Huia team 0800 205 305 (24 hour line).

Transferring to Auckland Transport trains in Papakura or Puhinui

Te Huia will arrive and depart from Platform 1 at Papakura station. Platform 1 is now gated to accommodate the different ticketing systems used by Te Huia and AT.

Te Huia passengers transferring to a AT Metro Southern Line service in Auckland will need to have an AT HOP card to access platform 2 or 3.

Te Huia will arrive at Platform 1 at Puhinui. Te Huia passengers will need to tag on to an AT HOP fare machine on the platform if transferring to the Southern or Eastern Line. Paper tickets are available to purchase from the customer service centre up on the concourse level (escalator and lift access).

For southbound passengers, please tag off with your AT HOP card on the fare machine on the platform to be charged the correct fare.
