Auckland Transport (AT) has sought expressions of interest and proposals from the international rail market to operate and grow Auckland’s metropolitan rail services over the next decade.

Following our consultation with industry that was initiated in early 2019, an Expression of Interest (EOI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) process have been undertaken to identify operators who have the understanding, experience and capability to help AT deliver on the next phase of public transport growth in Auckland. We are now in the final stages of selecting our preferred rail delivery partner.

The successful company selected to operate Auckland’s metropolitan rail services from early 2022 is expected to be announced in August 2021.
