We explore Auckland Transport’s journey of te reo Māori across our network and how we celebrated with our customers this year.
Nau mai hoki mai ki Te Wiki o te Reo Māori!
Welcome to another Māori Language Week where we acknowledge and celebrate te reo Māori here in Aotearoa.
This year marks the 49th annual celebration of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, with this year’s theme being “Ake ake ake – A Forever Language” as chosen by Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori | The Māori Language Commission.
The voice behind the voice
In celebration of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, we caught up with Josy Peita, the voice behind the te reo Māori announcements you hear across our transport system.
Hear more about her experience as one of the most recognisable voices here in Tāmaki Makaurau and why her work is crucial to ensure that te reo Māori is seen, heard, spoken and learned on our network.
